COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Why are we here?
ICNW is a community committed to defending democracy & ensuring equal rights for all. We’re committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and safe space for everyone to find their people, learn, grow and ultimately take action to better our community.
Community Guidelines & Responsibilities
We’re all passionate people doing hard work together and having fun along the way. Please follow these guidelines for all in-person or virtual (Signal, social, etc.) ICNW activities to make the experience awesome for everyone:
Let’s create a positive, welcoming space | Come with an open mind, ready to learn from others. Get excited to meet people with different experiences so everyone feels safe to share ideas, thoughts and feedback.
Assume positive intent | We’re all just trying to get through these crazy times together, and we will make mistakes with good intentions. Be empathetic towards everyone, knowing you don’t have their full story.
Don’t call people out, call them in | Respectfully challenge ideas, but avoid attacking others. Posts, comments or DMs that are inappropriate, rude, aggressive or spread misinformation will be removed.
Stay focused | Keep the discussion on the ICNW community & our work. We know you’re amazing, but please no self-promotion, spamming or unsolicited DMs. Respect your and each other’s privacy by not sharing anything identifying or overly personal without permission.
No harassment, hate speech or bullying, period | Words have meaning and can be unintentionally hurtful or triggering. Be thoughtful about your comments especially related to race, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability and age.
